Oh boy… I love the sound of this: “Think ‘Processing for Flash’.“
just some flv tests
Just trying out some Flash video. I’m making an all purpose flv player that can change size, I just have to find a way to control those z-indices. I made some extra attractor flv’s while I was at it. I used to use Quicktime but since their latest annoying itunes won’t install on my pc I decided to switch to Flash video (which is a great alternative).
- update -
It’s two years later and I’ve changed almost everything on this site. My old player was not working anymore. I’ve implemented the JW Mediaplayer here since the movies are quite nice.
librarything
Librarything lets you search libraries and Amazon to catalog your books, and see what people with similar collections read.
Although it doesn’t have an API to control or interact with your own collection, it does allow you to add a ‘widget’ to your webpage containing your latest entries or a random collection. The downside of this widget is that their server is sometimes slow and the widget (an url returning a javascript snippet document writing html) does not return xhtml. But a bit of php and some regular expressions later I managed to download the snippet once (in a while), and randomly pick items from there.
strip.o.matic
It is still a bit of a beta-test but here’s my latest creation: the strip.o.matic. You can create comics with your webcam and send them to your friends by email.
Thanks to Quasimondo for the bitmap exporter.
Filter Forge
Filter Forge is an extremely cool Photoshop plugin (also works in Photopaint as well as standalone). Besides a set of cool filters you can also create your own in a very intuitive drag-and-drop way.
Making your own is almost addictive. I’ve made these so far: threshold-blur, liquid chocolate and the seventies.
